Practise any song, your way

Split a song into its parts, then loop the tricky bit, slow it down, change the key, mute the part you play and play along. Everything runs on this computer; your audio is never uploaded.

Or drop songs on the left. You can queue several.

The first time

Speed depends on your computer: a recent graphics card is much faster than the processor alone. Try one song first to see how long yours takes. Nothing is ever uploaded.

What you can do with a song

  • Loop and slow down a section, and change the key
  • Mute or solo any part, so you play it yourself
  • Play along and record your instrument over the tracks
  • See the chords and learn parts from tab that follows the song

Models

Models are stored in this browser/app and reused offline. If downloads are blocked on your network, fetch the files from Hugging Face yourself and import them here (the file names must match).

From YouTube

Downloads run locally via yt-dlp, straight into the import queue.

What uses the network

Built with

SoundTouchJS and lamejs are used unmodified from npm; you can swap in your own build of either.

Troubleshooting

If something isn't working, copy this and paste it into a bug report. It describes your setup and any recent errors. It contains no songs, file names or personal information, and nothing is sent anywhere.

Basic Pitch · Apache-2.0 (bundled model)

The other projects above are used under the licences named next to them; follow the links for their full text.

Keyboard shortcuts

Ignored while typing in a text field. A song needs to be open for most of these.

While the Notes panel is open, laid out like a real piano: the bottom row is the white keys, the row above sits over the gaps for the black keys.
